Teachers instruct children in swimming movements at D&T Plaza Son La swimming pool in Chieng Coi ward.
Yen Anh hot water swimming pool in Chieng Coi ward attracts many children to learn swimming. Utilising natural hot mineral water, the pool helps children overcome their fear of cold, become more comfortable in the water, and extend their practice time, leading to faster progress.
Quang Thi Van, an instructor at the Yen Anh hot swimming pool, said: “Since the beginning of summer, I have taught more than 200 students aged 6 to 15. Each class has 5 to 10 students, divided by age and skill level. We provide hands-on instruction, correct each movement and integrate safety skills like how to handle leg cramps and identify dangerous water areas."
Other swimming pools such as Picenza Aqua Pool, of Water Supply Joint Stock Company No. 1 in Chieng An ward; Muong Thanh Hotel and Ha Anh in To Hieu ward and D&T Plaza in Chieng Coi ward are also vibrant, welcoming hundreds of children every day. All facilities focus on safety with properly divided swimming areas, life buoys available and supervision troughout operating hours.

The pool is very large and divided into five lanes with a depth of 0.6 m to 0.9 m, suitable for both children and adults. The price of 1.2-1.5 million VND (57 USD) per course is reasonable, helping children gain safety skills.
8-year-old Nguyen Ha Bao Ngoc said: "I’m very happy to take swimming lessons this summer. I’ve made new friends, improved my fitness, and learned life skills. I hope to swim well after 10 sessions and know how to handle dangerous situations to save myself and help others."
