Conference launches Son La’s tax administration tasks for 2026

The provincial Tax Department on April 22 held a conference to launch its 2026 tax administration tasks. Attending the event were Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, local tax officials, and representatives of businesses operating in the province.

In 2025, the tax sector closely followed the direction of the Ministry of Finance and its General Department of Taxation, as well as developments in business production activities, to proactively give advice to the provincial People’s Committee. It also coordinated with provincial departments and agencies to implement comprehensive and decisive solutions for state budget revenue management.

As a result, total state budget revenue in 2025 reached 5.67 trillion VND (215.4 million USD), equal to 137.1% of the target assigned by the central government and 126.1% of the target set by the provincial People’s Council.

For 2026, Son La province has been assigned state budget revenue targets of nearly 4.76 trillion VND by the central government, 5.05 trillion VND by the provincial People’s Council, and 6.2 trillion VND by the provincial Tax Department.

In the first quarter of 2026, total state budget revenue reached close to 1.34 trillion VND, equivalent to 28.1% of the government target and 26.5% of the provincial People’s Council goal. Of this, tax and fee revenues amounted to 1.03 trillion VND, while land-use fee revenues totaled 306 billion VND.

He emphasised the need to review and fully assess all revenue sources, and to strengthen management in areas with untapped potential such as land, natural resources, trade and commerce, e-commerce, services, and emerging sectors like renewable energy and tourism, ensuring accurate, sufficient, and timely collection for the state budget.

Additionally, he called for enhanced tax inspection and audit activities, strict handling of tax fraud, tax evasion, and transfer pricing, as well as stronger efforts to recover outstanding tax debts and limit new arrears. The tax sector was also urged to continue promoting administrative reform and digital transformation, improving service quality for both citizens and businesses.

 On this occasion, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to one collective and 11 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the 2025 socio-economic development emulation movement. The Son La provincial People’s Committee also commended 12 enterprises with significant contributions to the state budget in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
