Deputy Minister presents gifts to families benefiting from housing programme in Mai Son district

Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nong Thi Ha on May 16 visited and presented gifts to poor families in Mai Son district that have benefited from the substandard housing elimination programme.

 

Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nong Thi Ha and other officials visit the family of Lo Van Bun in Mat hamlet, Chieng Mung commune.

The delegation visited the families of Lo Van Bun in Mat hamlet and Tong Thi Xuan in Duc Han hamlet, Chieng Mung commune, Mai Son district. With 60 million VND (2,314 USD) from the State, and contributions from the community, both families have completed new houses, each with a total cost of over 100 million VND.

Sharing the joy with the families in their new homes, Ha encouraged them to continue striving to improve their household economies and rise out of poverty.

She praised Mai Son district’s efforts in eliminating 523 temporary houses for poor families and those with meritorious service, and expressed a hope that local Party committees and authorities would continue supporting production activities and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for disadvantaged families.

The official also urged further review and assessment of housing needs to promptly allocate appropriate resources in the time ahead.
