Get-together held for outstanding former female youth volunteers

The Son La provincial Women's Union held a get-together on November 13 to honour outstanding former female youth volunteers who have made contributions to the women's movement at all levels on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024).

The whole province has 695 former female youth volunteers. During the resistance wars against France and the US, they were present on all routes to the battlefields, participating in the task of opening roads and ensuring smooth traffic.

In peacetime, they have been exemplary in effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements, actively engaging in campaigns and movements to develop the economy, build new-style rural areas, and reduce poverty sustainably, contributing to the socio-economic, and cultural developement, and defence and security maintenance in the province.

Head of the provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Commission Luu Minh Quan hands over certificates of merit from the provincial Women's Union to former female youth volunteers.

Speaking at the event, Luu Minh Quan, member of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board and head of the provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Commission, acknowledged the achievements of the volunteers that have contributed to the overall accomplishments of the Party Committee, authorities, army and people of Son La province in recent years.

He expressed his hope that they will continue to promote their political mettle and heroic traditions, be a shining example for the younger generations to follow, and contribute to the successful implementation of the resolutions set by Party congresses at all levels.

On this occasion, the provincial Women's Union awarded the certificates of merit to 40 former female youth volunteers who have made great contributions to movements at all levels.
