Over 1,395 tonnes of salt from national reserves delivered to people affected by disasters, diseases

Vice Chairman of the Son La provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau on November 11 chaired a working session regarding the allocation of salt from national reserves to residents affected by natural disasters and diseases.

The meeting was attended by leaders from the provincial Departments of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Agriculture and Environment, and Finance, the Region 4 Sub-Department of State Reserves, and related units.

Under Decision No. 696/QD-CDT dated November 6, 2025, issued by the Director of the Department of State Reserves on delivering salt from national reserves to the provincial People’s Committee. Accordingly, the Region 4 Sub-Department of State Reserves is assigned to provide more than 1,395 tonnes of salt for the province to support people affected by natural disasters and epidemics. The handover will take place at the national reserve warehouse, with transportation arranged by Son La, from November 6 to 30.

During the session, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to promptly distribute the salt to affected residents, such as mobilising vehicles and personnel from the provincial Military Command to assist with transportation, and utilising manpower and machinery to pack and load the salt at warehouses to ensure smooth delivery.

The provincial Military Command was assigned to work with the Military Region 2 to arrange vehicles for delivering the salt to affected residents starting from November 17. The Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs was designated as the main agency responsible for receiving salt at the warehouse, developing plans for receiving and preserving the salt to maintain hygiene and quality, and striving to complete the distribution before November 30.
