Phu Yen High School celebrates 60th founding anniversary

The Phu Yen High School in Phu Yen district organised a ceremony on November 10 to mark its 60th founding anniversary (1964-2024).

At the event, delegates, teachers, and students recalled the school’s building and development process. Established in 1964, it was formerly the Quang Huy High School in Phu Yen district (formerly Nghia Lo province). In the first academic year of 1964-1965, the school had 37 students and 11 teachers. In the 1987-1988 academic year, its name was changed to Phu Yen, with the facilities built to meet the requirements of teaching and learning tasks in the new period.

Currently, the school campus covers ​​over 18,000sq.m. It has three buildings, with 36 classrooms, a boarding area for students, a dormitory for teachers, and other auxiliary works. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the school has 30 classes, with over 1,300 students. The rate of students passing the high school graduation exam reached 100%.

Speaking at the ceremony, Trang Thi Xuan, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements and educational results of the school in recent years. She requested the school continue to concretise the directives and resolutions of the Party and State on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training to meet the requirements and tasks of national industrialisation and modernisation.

Attention should be paid to educating students in ethics, lifestyle and sense of responsibility towards family, school and society; promoting digital transformation in teaching and learning activities; and implementing solutions to improve the quality of education in accordance with the 2018 general education programme.

Individuals receive certificates of merit from the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.
