Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, attended a ceremony on April 5 to inaugurate and hand over a primary school in Nam Ngan village, Luang Namtha district, Luang Namtha province of Laos.

Also joining the event was Chanthong Keopasot, Deputy Secretary of the Luang Namtha provincial Party Committee and head of the committee’s Organization Commission.

Hoang Quoc Khanh and Chanthong Keopasot cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Nam Ngen Primary School.

The Nam Ngen Primary School, worth 5 billion VND (213,083 USD), is a gift from the Party Organization, administration and people of Son La province to Luang Namtha province. It is also the result of the cooperation agreement for 2022-2024 signed between the two provinces. This is one of Son La's non-refundable aid projects for Luang Namtha province. Work on the school began on September 23, 2022. It was completed on schedule, with guaranteed quality.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khanh hoped that the school, after being put into use, would contribute to improving the human resources training quality of Luang Namtha province in general and of Luang Namtha district in particular. At the same time, he wished that the school’s teachers would continue to educate the students about the history of Vietnam-Laos relationship and the good friendship between the two countries. Nam Ngen pupils will keep the school green, clean and beautiful, and study hard to build and protect the homeland in the future, and continue the good tradition of the previous generations, he said.
