The exhibition is structured into three parts: Historical milestones of Son La’s administrative boundaries; Son La – The period of struggle to protect the administration and build the country; and Son La – The period of renewal and development. Nearly 200 copies of valuable historical documents, photos, and maps have been selected to comprehensively reflect the formation and development of the province through different periods.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Hau urged the provincial Department of Home Affairs and the provincial Historical Archives Centre to strengthen the application of digital technology, build electronic databases, and move toward establishing a “Digital Archive” to facilitate convenient access for officials and citizens; and proactively organise regular thematic exhibitions to bring archival documents closer to the public.
Departments, sectors, and localities should cooperate in collecting and using archives, considering them an important source for research, policy-making, and education on traditions.
He also called on the press, media agencies, mass organidations, particularly the Youth Union and the education sector, to actively promote and spread the value of archives to younger generations; encourage people and students to visit the exhibition in order to understand, respect, and promote the value of archival heritage, thereby bringing history closer to the community.
