Son La preparing for high school graduation exam

Trang Thi Xuan, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee and head of the steering committee for the 2024 high school graduation exam in Son La province, on May 27 chaired a meeting of the committee to review preparations for the exam.

The exam will take place on June 27 and 28. As of May 15, as many as 12,724 candidates in Son La province had registered to take the exam, with 35 exam venues and 597 rooms.

The provincial Department of Education and Training has directed local schools to focus on teaching, equipping 12th graders with good knowledge in anticipation of the exam.

The schools have been asked to organise regular tests to classify students, thus working out appropriate and effective teaching plans for student groups, and coordinated with agencies, and socio-political organisations to encourage students to go to school, and offer scholarships and support them during the exam.

Plans should be sketched up to ensure security for the exam, and security conditions and personnel must be reviewed, the department said.

Speaking at the meeting, Xuan asked the committee members to well perform their assigned tasks, and focus on implementing the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 15/CT-TTg dated May 16, 2024 on strengthening direction and coordination in organising the 2024 high school graduation and university entrance exam and vocational education.

The committee will continue instructing schools in teaching, and devise plans to ensure the schedule and absolute safety of the exam, she said.

Xuan also stressed the need to put forth security, traffic safety and fire prevention and control plans at exam venues, and ensure the smooth transportation, handover and secrecy of exam questions and answers.

She also urged press agencies to step up the delivery of information about the exam./.
