A leader of the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board delivers a report at the meeting.

At the meeting, the working delegation listened to a report from the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board on investment attraction, planning management, and the operation of industrial parks across the province.

In recent times, the Management Board has proactively coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to attract secondary investors to Mai Son Industrial Park in line with the province’s potential and strengths in agricultural processing linked with raw material zones.

At the same time, it has actively sought and invited capable and experienced investors to study investment opportunities in the development and operation of infrastructure at Van Ho Industrial Park.

The Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee speaks at the meeting.

Currently, the industrial land area at Mai Son Industrial Park is 48.9 hectares out of a planned 63.7 hectares, with 10 projects still in effect. From 2024 to date, the Management Board has approved investment policies for five projects with a total registered capital of 1.61 trillion VND (61.6 million USD), bringing the occupancy rate to 65%.

Production and business activities of enterprises in the industrial park have remained stable, while several projects have proposed adjustments and expansions to increase production capacity. In 2025, enterprises at Mai Son Industrial Park contributed 12.9 billion VND to the state budget and created jobs for more than 300 local workers.

Alongside these achievements, several challenges remain, including slow progress in completing infrastructure for Phase I of Mai Son Industrial Park, persistent difficulties in site clearance, the generally small scale of most projects, and obstacles in attracting infrastructure investors to Van Ho Industrial Park despite its potential.

A representative of BHL Food Ingredients Processing JSC speaks at the meeting.

At the meeting, representatives of the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, Chieng Mung commune, and enterprises operating in Mai Son Industrial Park proposed that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee continue to direct the implementation of a plan to remove obstacles in compensation, support, and resettlement for the Mai Son Industrial Park – Phase I project.

This includes transferring responsibility for site clearance from the Mai Son district People’s Committee to the Chieng Mung commune People’s Committee under the new local government model; allocating provincial budget funds for the 2026–2030 period to implement the construction of resettlement infrastructure and worker housing within Mai Son Industrial Park; and adding the Mai Son Industrial Park - Phase II project to the medium-term public investment plan for 2026–2030 using state budget funds.

They also proposed preparing resettlement land to serve site clearance for the current industrial park and its planned expansion, avoiding delays and prolonged implementation, and continuing to coordinate with relevant departments to review and complete legal dossiers and procedures for submission to competent authorities for approval of Phase II.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee addresses the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the provincial Party Committee Secretary acknowledged and commended the efforts of the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, departments, agencies, and local authorities in leading, directing, and coordinating the development of Mai Son Industrial Park.

He requested that the Party Committee of the provincial People’s Committee continue to direct the removal of difficulties in compensation, support, and resettlement for the Mai Son Industrial Park project; allocate medium-term public investment capital for 2026–2030 to implement the remaining components of the Phase I infrastructure project.

He also urged considering and decide on investment policies for a transformer station and the upgrading of access roads to the industrial park; and instruct relevant departments to review and complete legal procedures for submission to competent authorities for approval of the Phase II project in accordance with regulations.

The Standing Board of the Chieng Mung commune Party Committee was tasked with directing the implementation of responsibilities within its authority, while closely coordinating with provincial departments and the Industrial Parks Management Board to address site clearance bottlenecks, complete Phase I of Mai Son Industrial Park, and roll out Phase II.

The Management Board was also requested to continue reviewing and urging investors and enterprises to accelerate project implementation, complete construction items, invest in machinery, and use land in line with approved investment policies; improve the efficiency of industrial park investments; and proactively study and propose solutions for developing Van Ho Industrial Park and other industrial parks in accordance with regulations, thereby contributing to creating jobs for local workers.
