On the morning of July 27, a landslide occurred at Km304+620 on a road bypassing National Highway 6 in Lua hamlet, Hua La commune, Son La city, with about 5,000m3 of soil and rock covering the road surface, causing traffic congestion.

Due to the influence of storm Prapiroon, the second entering the East Sea this year, on late July 23 and early July 24, localities in Son La province experienced heavy downpours.

The Standing Board of the Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Yen district on July 24 burnt incense at the historical relic site of the war against the French colonialists in Nhot hamlet, Gia Phu commune, in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and martyrs.
