According to preliminary reports, Typhoon Bualoi triggered landslides and resulted in the death of one resident in Suoi Ga hamlet. Over 40 hectares of rice fields were damaged; six houses in Cai, Chung, and Bang hamlets were swept away or flooded. Thirty-one household in Kem and Tan Kieng hamlets, facing landslide risks, had to be urgently evacuated. In Doan Ket hamlet, all power poles were broken or collapsed. Additionally, a modular steel bridge in Kem hamlet was swept away.

The Muong Do Primary and Secondary Ethnic Boarding School suffered significant damage, with 70 meters of fencing washed away, 25 meters of drainage pipes damaged, and several school structures including poles, gates, doors, and yards affected. Some classrooms were flooded.

Provincial Road 114 also suffered landslides at multiple points, with severe damage, especially at Deo Put pass leading to Lan hamlet, and along the Bai Bong area. The slope near Hop Phong hamlet heading to Lao hamlet is currently impassable. The road section at the entrance to Hop Phong hamlet towards Dinh hamlet was blocked due to a clogged culvert, causing overflow and landslides on the road shoulder.

The Muong Bang commune Civil Defence Command mobilised local militia, commune police, and groundswell security forces to urgently evacuate people and property to safe areas. Schools in unsafe areas temporarily closed, with plans in place to protect students, especially boarding students currently staying on campus.
At the same time, communication efforts have been enhanced to keep local communities informed about the storm, and teams have been assigned to be on 24/7 duty to respond to emergencies.

After the field inspection, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee requested that Muong Bang commune promptly implement all necessary response measures, emphasising no complacency. He stressed the utmost priority must be given to ensure human safety, especially in high-risk areas prone to landslides and flash floods.
He also called for efforts to quickly overcome the aftermath and restore daily life and production for the local people. Authorities were urged to mobilise all available forces to urgently repair and temporarily reopen damaged roads to facilitate safe travel for residents.
