The event was attended by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and former Vice President Truong My Hoa, among others.

Speaking at the programme, Major General-Musician Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, stressed that among 12 representative intangible cultural heritages of Vietnam honoured by UNESCO, there are 9 musical heritages. This is the pride of the whole nation, especially those who work in the country's music industry.

He also noted that born amid difficult years under the resistance war, the Vietnam Musicians Association has given strength to the revolutionary music of Vietnam, to arouse patriotism and love among the people, contributing to the victory of the struggle against foreign invaders and the cause of national construction and defence.

On that very glorious journey, generations of musicians and artists created many musical works imbued with the national soul and the breath of the times.

Vietnam Music Day encourages musicians to strive to create more beautiful songs and meaningful musical activities, to make great contributions to the development of the country’s music industry, added Musician Duc Trinh.

Various festivals and art programmes have been held nationwide, helping to affirm the importance and mission of Vietnamese music in the revolutionary cause and daily life.

The programmes have also been both recognition and honour for musicians and artists, as well as enriched people’s spiritual lives.

Divided into three parts, the special art programme brought viewers to a luxurious art space. The first part featured works composed of traditional musical instruments and songs with folk music influences.

Meanwhile, the second part introduced musical works in classical chamber style, showing the integration and development of music in absorbing the quintessence of world music.
