It is part of a project on preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the national target programme for socio-economic development in mountainous and ethnic-inhabited areas. The department organised folk song and dance classes for members of folk song and dance clubs of the Mong ethnic people in the commune.
After a month of studying and practicing under the guidance of artisans and artists of the provincial Music and Dance Theater, participants have grasped basic knowledge of traditional ethnic culture, songs, melodies, dances and skills in using musical instruments, thus helping them better understand the cultural values and traditional folk arts, contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the Mong people and avoiding the risk of fading away or being invaded by harmful cultural flows. In addition, the model has also promoted cultural and art activities imbued with the cultural identity to better serve tourists.
