200 gifts presented to people in difficult circumstances

The Red Cross Society of Son La city on January 19 organised the "Humanitarian Tet” Market for poor people as the Year of the Snake 2025 nears.

Leaders of the city People's Committee and Red Cross Society give certificates honouring the sponsors of the programme.

At the event, the organisers distributed gift vouchers, worth 600,000 VND (24 USD) each, to 150 poor and near-poor households, students in especially difficult circumstances, families affected by natural disasters, and policy beneficiaries. These vouchers can help them buy essential necessities, such as rice, spices, instant noodles, cooking oil, and blankets.

The funding of nearly 100 million VND came from the city Red Cross Society's fund and contributions from organisations, individuals, and donors. It is expected to help spread the spirit of humanity, share love, and assist people in need to have a warm Tet.

On the same day, the city Red Cross Society coordinated with the Women's Union of Kim Ma - Phuc Xa ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi and the ‘Love Sharing’ Group to present 50 Tet gifts, worth 700,000 VND each, including cash, school bags, warm blankets, clothes and necessities to 50 poor and near-poor households, and students in difficult circumstances in Chieng Co commune, Son La city.
