At the programme, a rapporteur from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism disseminated fundamental contents of the amended Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control. The official focused on the signs of domestic violence, the rights of victims, the responsibilities of perpetrators, addresses for reporting and denouncing domestic violence acts, and mediation principles in domestic violence prevention and control.
Local women union members also watched video clips on domestic violence prevention and control, and raised relevant questions. This aimed to enhance public awareness of gender equality, and domestic violence prevention and control.
This activity is within Project 8 “To realise gender equality and address urgent issues faced by women and children” in which the Vietnam Women's Union is designated as coordinator. The project forms part of the national target programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period.
