The festival will take place at the Hai Ba Trung Temple in Thong Nhat hamlet, Chieng Khuong commune, including a water procession from Ma River to the temple; incense offering at the temple; an art programme; and drum beating to open the festival. The festive part will comprise traditional sports competitions such as tug of war, Chinese chess, stick pushing, ‘con’ (cloth ball) throwing, and folk games.

The annual festival aims to foster the tradition of patriotism, demonstrate the nation's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source," promote the value of the relic site, and turn it into a cultural and spiritual tourist destination attractive to both domestic and foreign tourists.
