Kindergarten support project inaugurated in Song Ma district
The Son La provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the provincial Youth Federation, on February 3 inaugurated an “Anh sang nui rung” (Light of the mountains and forests) project at Co San facility of the March 8 Kindergarten in Chieng Khoong commune, Song Ma district.

The project includes a 42sq.m solidly built classroom, with full electrical and water equipment and a toilet. It has a total investment of 210 million VND (8,300 USD), sponsored by the “Suc manh” (Strength) project. The classroom, which replaces the old temporary one, helps ensure safety for teachers and students, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning.

On this occasion, the provincial Youth Union presented 20 gifts to poor and near-poor households in Co San hamlet;15 gifts to disadvantaged students; and milk and candy to 75 children at the Co San hamlet kindergarten facility.

Son La province is home to 609 preschools, general schools, and continuing education centres with nearly 380,000 students, more than 70% of whom are from ethnic minority groups. In recent years, schools across the province have focused on integrating traditional cultural education into both classroom teaching and extracurricular activities. These efforts have helped nurture pride, love, and a sense of responsibility for preserving cultural heritage among young generations, creating a distinctive identity for education in Son La.

This is one of 13 inter-level schools being built in Son La province under the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW regarding the investment in the construction of schools for border communes.
