Tet programme held for trade union members in Thuan Chau district

The Labour Federation of Thuan Chau district on January 20 organised a Lunar New Year (Tet) programme, which saw the attendance of Lo Viet Phuong, deputy head of the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Ombudsman Commission, and local officials.

With 137 grassroots trade unions, the district Labour Federation brings together 4,188 members. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, it has carried out various activities to support its members, particularly those in difficult circumstances and social policy beneficiaries. As of January 19, the grassroots trade unions had organised 29 such programmes, distributing 886 gift packages to individuals with a total value exceeding 176 million VND (6,950 USD).

Based on proposals from the grassroots units, the district Labour Federation compiled a list of 184 members and officials for the 2025 “Trade union Tet market” programme. It also suggested the provincial Labour Federation to allocate funding for Tet gifts to 495 members who belong to policy beneficiary households, face difficult circumstances, or have been affected by natural disasters. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has provided 445 gift packages for trade unionists in the district.

At the programme, Phuong presented 20 gift packages to policy beneficiaries and needy individuals, along with 110 others from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to trade union members. On this occasion, the delegation visited and delivered 25 gift packages to workers at the Binh Thuan General Production, Trading, and Service Cooperative and Thu Dan Tea Co., Ltd. in Thuan Chau.
