The training session on using the Khan Academy Vietnam open school model.
The model is a non-profit educational programme that integrates the free online learning platform of US-based Khan Academy, providing localised learning materials for students. Through a system of personalised video lectures and assignments, KAV supports students in improving knowledge, developing self-learning skills, and aiming for lifelong learning, with the motto "no blackboard, no chalk, no tuition fees".
In November, the provincial Department of Education and Training signed a memorandum of cooperation with VNF to implement the creation of KAV accounts for all schools, and effectively and responsibly apply artificial intelligence through the Khanmingo teaching assistant tool.
At the training session, administrators and teachers at various locations were guided on how to manage and use KAV open school accounts; and get familiar with the operating procedures of the platform, from assigning learning tasks and monitoring student progress to utilising the learning materials system to implement the model during the academic year.
Administrators and teachers participate in the training session.
Through the programme, the teaching staff improved their capacity to apply digital technology in teaching and learning, supplemented digital learning resources and electronic lectures, thus contributing to the innovation of teaching methods and meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Programme.
