The provincial Confederation of Labour on June 28 held a conference to commend outstanding families of trade union members, workers and public servants in 2024, and celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001-2024), towards the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929-2024).

As many as 39 teams with nearly 1,000 volunteers who are youth union members of districts and Son La city have been sent to 35 venues of the national high school graduation exam in Son La province.  

Within the framework of the support programme for the national high school graduation exam 2024, the provincial Youth Union’s Standing Board has mobilised nearly 1,000 volunteers and established 39 support teams at 35 exam sites in the province. All have been ready to support over 12,600 candidates taking the exam.

The Women's Union of Mai Son district organised a communication campaign to promote gender equality and eliminate prejudices and stereotypes in the family and community on June 24 in Chieng Mai commune.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on June 24 convened a meeting of the Organising Committee of the preliminary round of the 2024 Reading Cultural Ambassador contest in Son La province.

After the three-year implementation of Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU dated May 13, 2021 of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on developing Moc Chau district into a township by 2025, with the efforts and determination of all-level Party committees, authorities and residents in the district, and with the attention and support of provincial authorities, departments and agencies, Moc Chau has achieved many significant results.

The To Hieu High School in Son La city on June 24 coordinated with the municipal youth union and those of the Department of Public Security and other units and businesses to launch a campaign to support candidates of the 2024 national high school graduation exam.

The Son La provincial Department of Public Security on June 12 coordinated with the provincial Youth Union to launch a programme entitled "Learning to be a policeman" in 2024.

A contest for vocational teachers opened at the Son La College on June 12.

The Muong La district People's Committee on June 10 held a ceremony to announce decisions and receive certificates recognising 32 national heritage trees in the locality.

In an effort to create jobs and stable income for rural labourers, help them get rid of poverty and ensure social welfare for them, Mai Son district has integrated many mechanisms and policies, encouraging local workers to attend training classes and assisting them in seeking jobs at agencies and businesses in and outside the province.

The Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) of Yen Chau district organised its 6th congress for the 2024-2029 term on June 2-3, drawing the participation of 120 delegates representing more than 40,000 young people of all ethnic groups in the district.

The People and Nature Reconciliation (PanNature), a member of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, coordinated with the forest ranger unit of Van Ho district, the district Youth Union, the People's Committee of Van Ho commune and sponsors to organise a programme entitled "Greener Forests” in Pa Cop hamlet, Van Ho commune on June 2.

The Youth Union of Tay Bac University in coordination with environmental protection organisation Xanh Vietnam and the club of volunteer students on June 2 organised a programme to launch the Summer Volunteer Youth Campaign 2024, respond to World Environment Day (June 5), and hold the sixth “Clean up Vietnam” campaign, themed “Making Vietnam records.”

The Youth Union of Muong La district coordinated with relevant units to organise a programme entitled "Soldiers volunteer for beloved juniors" for nearly 100 children in Ta commune on June 1.

The Department of Industry and Trade ranked 7th out of 20 departments and agencies in Son La province in the administrative reform index 2023 with 86.72 points, down two places compared to 2022.

The Chieng Le Preschool in Son La city on May 27 organised a ceremony to close the 2023-2024 school year, and receive a certificate recognising it as a level-2 national standard one.   

With goals of preserving biodiversity, contributing to socio-economic development towards a green economy, and proactively adapting to climate change, the Son La provincial People's Committee has promoted the implementation of the national biodiversity strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The Son La provincial Youth Union, the provincial Police’s Youth Committee and the Phu Yen district Youth Union on May 24 coordinated with the Kim Bon Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities in kicking off construction on a school for children at Buong Pa hamlet, Kim Bon commune.

The People's Committee of Song Ma district on May 24 held a ceremony to commend teachers and students with outstanding achievements at provincial- and district-level competitions organised by the education and training sector in the 2023-2024 academic year.
