In the first quarter of 2024, Son La province stepped up employment counseling activities and labor market information delivery. In particular, 19 employment counseling conferences and job fairs were organised in Muong La district, with 5,529 workers participating.

Striving to raise forest coverage to 50% by 2025, Phu Yen district has rolled out a plan to grow 300 hectares of forest and 380,000 scattered trees each year.

There are currently over 1.18 million people joining social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance in Son La province. The health insurance coverage rate reaches 94.2% of the province's population, equal to 94.2% of the plan assigned by the Vietnam Social Security, and 97.1% of the plan assigned by the provincial People's Committee.

Moc Chau district on March 12 organised the 7th Job Fair 2024, attracting the participation of nearly 50 employers and training institutions inside and outside the province, as well as over 3,000 workers, youth union members and young people from 15 communes and towns and 9th and 12th graders in the district.

In February, the provincial Employment Service Center provided consultations on labour, employment, and unemployment insurance policies; and issued 284 decisions on unemployment insurance policies, including 269 on unemployment benefits.

In February, especially during the Lunar New Year holiday, medical facilities in Son La province ensured adequate medical supplies, medicine and necessary equipment to serve emergency cases and organize medical examination and treatment for people.

Moc Chau district on March 6 organised a conference honouring 77 outstanding collectives and individuals in emulation movements in different aspects of the social life.
