Among them, 139 students will study Vietnamese for one year and 125 others nine months. Learn Vietnamese for 9 months. After completing the Vietnamese language course and getting a certificate, they will be considered for admission to majors at Son La College or universities and colleges in the province for specialized training according to the plans and requirements of the northern Lao provinces.
In addition, the Lao students will also participate in cultural and sports activities; and visit historical relic sites and landscapes in Son La province and some other localities across Vietnam to better their understanding of Vietnamese culture and people, as well as have more chances to practice the Vietnamese language.
Son La College commits to well implementing training programmes and plans as well as providing learning and living conditions for Lao students. It proposed the departments of education and sports of the Lao provinces help the school with enrolling and bringing students to the school for study as planned.
Representatives of the northern Lao provinces believed that the school will impart the best knowledge to Lao students who study Vietnamese language and other majors, so that they can develop their abilities and capacities when returning to work in their homeland. At the same time, they hoped that Son La College will regularly exchange information about Lao students studying at the school for timely removal of difficulties and problems facing them during the training process.
On this occasion, the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports presented its certificate of merit to Son La College. Meanwhile, Luang Prabang and Oudomxay provinces awarded the certificates of merit to one collective and 12 individuals with achievements in human resources training for Laos.
