Son La province boasts 7,100 fish cages

Taking advantage of the water surface of the hydroelectric reservoir, people in Quynh Nhai, Muong La, Phu Yen, Moc Chau, and Van Ho districts are maintaining 7,100 fish cages.

The total area for aquaculture in the province is over 3,000 hectares, including both the water surface of the hydroelectric reservoir and ponds.

Farmers in Chieng Bang commune, Quynh Nhai district, raise fish in cages on the hydroelectric reservoir.

Since the beginning of this year, the province's aquaculture production has reached over 5,300 tonnes. Sectors and localities have actively coordinated to effectively protect aquatic resources and persuade residents to comply with legal regulations on fishing. The have also promoted efforts in preventing and controlling diseases on aquatic species.
