Son La takes action against smuggling, trade fraud

In February, the provincial Steering Committee 389 directed relevant forces to intensify inspections and tighten control over border areas, checkpoints, trails, crossings, and gathering points near the border and customs gates.

Increased monitoring was also enforced at wholesale markets, commercial centres, retail agents, social media networks, and e-commerce platforms. Authorities swiftly detected and strictly handled violations related to the sale and transportation of prohibited goods, counterfeit products, items of unclear origin, intellectual property infringements, and breaches of food safety regulations.

An inter-sectoral inspection team of the province and Mai Son district conducts an inspection at a store in Hat Lot town.

Authorities detected and handled 46 cases involving 47 individuals. Among them, 45 cases resulted in administrative fines, contributing over 278 million VND (10,893 USD) to the state budget. The estimated value of the confiscated illegal goods exceeded 760 million VND. Additionally, one case was prosecuted, involving two individuals.
