Tea bud production up 5.7% year-on-year

Since the beginning of this year, Son La province's tea bud production has reached 53,527 tonnes, a 5.7% increase from the same period last year, meeting the material demand of processors.

Son La province boasts 5,867 hectares of tea, primarily featuring Kim Tuyen, Shan Tuyet, Van Son, and Olong varieties.

Local enterprises, cooperatives, and tea farmers are actively applying science and technology in planting, caring for, harvesting, and processing tea, gradually improving both yield and quality.

To date, several tea products of the province have obtained protection, including Shan Tuyet tea of Moc Chau district with geographical indication, Olong tea and Phong Lai tea with certification trademarks, and Ta Xua tea of Bac Yen district with collective trademark.
