Thuan Chau encourages public engagement in irrigation during 2025 dry season

The People's Committee of Thuan Chau district held a ceremony in Cho Muong hamlet, Chieng Pha commune, to launch the movement for public participation in irrigation during the 2025 dry season.

At the launch of the movement.

The launching ceremony saw the attendance of representatives from the district People’s Committee and relevant agencies, along with those from Chieng Pha, and local residents.

Thuan Chau has 244 irrigation projects, with a total canal length of 313 km. During the 2025 dry season, water levels in the district's reservoirs are expected to reach only 60–65% of their designed capacity. To brace for unpredictable weather conditions, the district has been reviewing areas at risk of water shortages and developing specific plans for drought prevention and mitigation.
