The tournament attracted nearly 1,000 male and female runners of all ages in the district, with distances of 5 km and 10 km along the inter-hamlet route of Muong Bon commune.

This was the second time the tournament had been organised and sponsored by Agribank Mai Son. It was part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024) and 65 years since President Ho Chi Minh and a central-level working delegation visited and talked with northwestern ethnic minorities in Son La province (May 7, 1959-2024), and welcome the Vietnam Youth Federation congresses at all levels, for the 2024-2029 term.

The tournament was also an opportunity for officials, youth union members and young people to improve health to achieve high work efficiency, promote the development of physical training and sports movements, and build solidarity between agencies and units in the locality.
