According to statistics from Moc Chau district, heavy rain and thunderstorms triggered by typhoon Yagi made four houses collapse, seven with roofs blown off, and 118 hit by landslides. More than 252 hectares of agricultural crops, 5.4 hectares of iron-framed net houses and three domestic water works were damaged; five electric poles and 14 telecommunication poles fell down; and some traffic routes were eroded and flooded. Total damage was estimated at nearly 20 billion VND (814,830 USD).

With the motto of "4 on-site", Moc Chau district has directed and mobilized forces and vehicles to fix the consequences of natural disasters. Up to now, houses with roofs blown off or flooded have been repaired; households facing a risk of landslides have had their members and property moved to safe places. Basically, landslide-affected roads in the locality have been repaired in time to allow the traffic circulation.
Nghia extended his sympathies to households suffering typhoon damage and acknowledged the active response of Son La province in general and Moc Chau district in particular to the unusual developments of the storm and its subsequent floods, contributing to minimizing damage to human and property.
He urged Son La province and Moc Chau district to continue to promote the "4 on-site" motto, monitor the flood situation, and take solutions to evacuate residents to safe areas when there is a risk of landslides and support them to overcome the flood consequences.
They were requested to keep the environment sanitation, disease prevention and control after floods; guide locals to restore agricultural production; and help affected households stabilize their lives soon.
On this occasion, Nghia presented 53 gifts to households affected by the storm and disadvantaged students with excellent academic performance in Hua Pang commune.
