Phieng Ngua hamlet recognised as model new-style rural area

Chieng Xom commune in Son La city hosted a ceremony on December 14 to announce the recognition of Phieng Ngua hamlet as a new-style rural area and a model in this regard for its landscape and living environment quality.

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Son La city Ha Trung Chien, along with representatives from departments and agencies of Son La province, and others from Son La city and its communes.

At the ceremony to announce the recognition of Phieng Ngua hamlet as a new-style rural area and a model one in terms of landscape and living environment quality.

Phieng Ngua counts 125 households with a population of 470. Over the past two years, apart from State investment worth over 2.3 billion VND (90,533 USD), it has mobilised an additional 657 million VND from residents to meet all the 16 criteria for a new-style rural area, achieving 44 specific targets. Additionally, Phieng Ngua has fulfilled all the nine criteria for a model new-style rural hamlet in terms of landscape and living environment quality.

A representative of the Son La city People's Committee presents the certificate recognising Phieng Ngua as a new rural area and a model one to its leaders. 

To date, all main roads in the hamlet have been fully paved with concrete. Its average annual income per capita has reached 57.5 million VND. The hamlet has eradicated poverty, eliminated temporary or dilapidated housing, and ensured public safety and order. Its streets are clean and visually appealing, with waste collection in designated areas. Phieng Ngua is the first in Son La city to achieve the status of a model new-style rural hamlet for its landscape and living environment quality.

The permanent members of the city Party Committee present a gift to Phieng Ngua hamlet.

On this occasion, the city People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to two collectives and four individuals. The People's Committee of Chieng Xom commune also presented the certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals for their outstanding contributions to building Phieng Ngua hamlet into a model new-style rural area.
