Political work exchange, interactions between Vietnamese, Lao young military officers held in Moc Chau

Within the framework of the second Vietnam - Laos border defence friendship exchange, an exchange on political work and interactions among young military officers of the Vietnamese and Lao armies were held on the evening of October 22 in Moc Chau district.

Attending the event were General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence of Vietnam; General Chansamone Chanyalath, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defence of Laos; and Tong Thi Phong, former Politburo member, former Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; among others.

The exchange with leaders of Son La and Houaphanh provinces.

 The exchange with representatives of the Military High Commands of Nghe An province and Laos’ Sekong province.
The exchange with young officers of the Vietnam Border Guard and the Laos Border Guard.

 

Discussions, art performances and reports at the programme reflected the close relationship, mutual support, and meaningful activities between the authorities and people in the two countries’ border areas. The results of bilateral coordination in border management and protection have contributed to maintaining sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and ensuring security, and social order and safety in the border areas.

Within the framework of the second Vietnam - Laos border defence friendship exchange, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence presented the "Helping students go to school" scholarships to 100 poor students from both countries.

Leaders of the Ministries of National Defence of Vietnam and Laos present flowers to congratulate the success of the exchange.
