Son La young citizens embark on military service

Ceremonies to see off recruits were held simultaneously in Son La city, Moc Chau township, and districts across Son La province on the morning of February 15.

The events were attended by leaders from the Ministry of National Defence, the Military Region 2 High Command, members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and the Standing Board of the provincial People's Committee, representatives from departments, agencies, and localities, as well as a large number of people in the province.

In 2025, Son La province has over 1,800 citizens enlisted for their military and public security duties. The quality of recruits in 2025 is higher than in 2024 in terms of health and education. Notably, three are Party members, and 744 voluntarily applied to be enlisted.

In Moc Chau township, the enlistment ceremony 2025 saw the presence of Sen. Lieut. Gen. Vu Hai San, member of the Central Party Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defence; Lieut. Gen. Pham Duc Duyen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 2; and Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee; among others.

This year, Moc Chau township has 162 recruits, including 120 for military service and 42 for public security duties. The recruitment process was carried out seriously in accordance with regulations, with recruits meeting all standards in political quality, education, health, and being fully prepared to protect the nation.

At the ceremony, the leaders entrusted their faith in the recruits, encouraging them to uphold the tradition of their heroic homeland, strive for self-improvement, cultivate ethics, strictly follow military discipline and unit regulations, and complete their tasks excellently, deserving the trust and love of the local Party organisation, administration and people, and their families.

Son La city solemnly held the enlistment ceremony at the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square. This year, Military Region 2 chose Son La city as the main location for the festival.

Attending the ceremony were Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Colonel Khong Dinh Tam, member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 2; Ha Trung Chien, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the city Party Committee, and Chairman of the city People's Council; representatives from the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of the provincial Military Command, the city Military Command, units receiving recruits, and a large number of local people.

This year, 132 citizens from the city enlisted, including 95 for the military service and 37 joining the people's public security force. The recruitment process was carried out seriously and strictly in accordance with regulations. All recruits meet the health standards and have at least secondary school education, with 21 having graduated from vocational schools, colleges, and universities. Additionally, 110 recruits completed the Party awareness programme, 99% are youth union members, and one is Party member. As many as 59 citizens volunteered for military and public security duties.

The local Party committees, authorities, and mass organisations presented gifts, with a total value of over 760 million VND (30,000 USD) to encourage the recruits to complete their assigned duties excellently, contributing to building and safeguarding the nation.

In Mai Son district, the similar event saw the presence of Nguyen Thai Hung, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; leaders of the provincial Military Command; representatives from various provincial departments and agencies, and Mai Son district, and a large number of local residents.

This year, Mai Son district has over 200 recruits, with 160 for the military service and more than 40 joining the people’s public security force. The recruitment process was conducted strictly in accordance with regulations, with recruits meeting all standards of political quality, education, and health. Of them, 64 voluntarily enlisted.

At the ceremony, provincial and district leaders presented flowers to encourage the recruits to embark on their mission of building and safeguarding the nation. They urged the recruits to study, train, maintain strong political will, comply with military discipline, adhere to unit regulations, uphold the qualities of an Uncle Ho’s soldier, and complete their assigned tasks excellently.

In Phu Yen district, the enlistment ceremony 2025 was held at the Anti-French Resistance War– Nhot Hamlet Forest historical site in Gia Phu commune. Attending the ceremony were Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders of the provincial Military Command, several provincial departments and agencies; Phu Yen district officials; and a large number of local residents.

This year, Phu Yen district has 155 recruits, including 110 joining the military service and 45 enlisting in the people’s public security force. Notably, 43 recruits have experienced Party awareness training. 

At the event, the leaders encouraged the recruits to uphold the traditions of their heroic homeland, quickly integrate into the military environment, strive for self-improvement, cultivate ethics, comply strictly with military discipline and unit regulations, and complete their assigned tasks excellently, deserving the trust and love of the Party organisation, administration, people, and their families.

In the highland district of Bac Yen, Luong Thi Van Anh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial Party Committee's Inspection Board, along with leaders from various provincial departments, attended the enlistment ceremony 2025 and encouraged the recruits as they embarked on their military and public security duties.

This year, Bac Yen district has 121 citizens enlisting, including 85 for the military service and 36 for the public security mission. As many as 16 young people volunteered for the national service.

Yen Chau district held the enlistment ceremony 2025 in a solemn atmosphere. Attending the event were Dinh Thi Bich Thao, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Party Committee’s Information and Education Board; representatives from several provincial departments and Yen Chau district, and local residents.

This year, Yen Chau district has 134 recruits, meeting 100% of the recruitment target. Of these, 95 citizens serve the military service, and 39 join the people’s public security force. All recruits are youth union members, aged between 18 and 26, from various ethnic groups, including Kinh, Thai, Mong, and Xinh Mun. Two of them hold university degrees, and all have received Party awareness training.

Quynh Nhai district also held the enlistment ceremony 2025, drawing the participation of Bui Minh Tan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Board; leaders of various departments and agencies of the province and Quynh Nhai district, along with a large number of local people.

This year, Quynh Nhai has 138 citizens enlisting, including 100 embarking on the military service and 38 joining the people’s public security force. Three citizens volunteered to enlist. The recruits showed their high determination before departing for their duties, with the goal of completing their assigned tasks excellently.

In Sop Cop district, attending the enlistment ceremony 2025 were Luu Minh Quan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Board; representatives of the provincial Military Service Council, the provincial Military Command, and Sop Cop district; and local people and students.

This year, the district successfully met its recruitment target, with 117 recruits selected from eight communes. Among them, 80 join the military service and 37 serving the people’s public security force.

Sop Cop carefully and thoroughly prepared the recruitment process, ensuring that the recruits meet all the requirements in terms of quantity, political qualities, education, and health. They are aged from 19 to 27, finishing at least the 6th grade. Among them, one has graduated from university.

The center of Muong La district was filled with flags, flowers, and the bustling atmosphere of the enlistment festival 2025. Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; and representatives of the provincial Military Service Council and the provincial Military Command.

This year, Muong La has 134 citizens enlisting, including 90 for the military service and 44 joining the people’s public security force. The quality of the recruits is higher than last year, with 59% having graduated from high school, 100% being youth union members, and 25 volunteering to enlist.

They hoped the new soldiers would uphold the traditions of their homeland and the spirit of youth, continually improve themselves, strictly observe military discipline, and complete their tasks excellently, living up to the trust and love of the local Party organisation, administration, people, and their families.

In Song Ma district, the similar event was held at the 3/2 Square, drawing the participation of Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; representatives from the provincial Military Command, the provincial Military Service Council, and the receiving units; and local officials and people.

This year, the district was tasked with recruiting 169 citizens. Among them, 120 embark on the military service, and 49 join the people’s public security force. The quality of the recruits has improved compared to last year. The district's Party Committees, authorities, and mass organizations at the district, communes, and town organized cultural exchange nights, presented gifts worth over 500 million VND, and encouraged the recruits to confidently and enthusiastically set off for their national duties.

In Thuan Chau district, the enlistment ceremony was attended by Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and representatives from various departments and agencies of the province and Thuan Chau district, along with local people and students.

This year, Thuan Chau district has 211 young people enlisting, fulfilling 100% of the recruitment target. Among them, 155 join the military service, and 56 for the people’s public security force. All of the recruits are youth union members, aged 18 to 24, from various ethnic groups including Kinh, Thai, Mong, Khang, La Ha, and Kho Mu. The receiving units include Division 355 under the Military Region 2; Regiment 754 under the provincial Military Command; and the provincial Department of Public Security.

The recruits demonstrated high determination, vowing to uphold the traditions of their heroic homeland and excel in their assigned tasks, living up to the trust and love of the local Party organization and people.

In the gateway district of Van Ho, despite the cold and fog, the recruits were full of excitement and determination, ready to embark on their national service. The enlistment ceremony took place in a solemn, serious, swift, and cost-effective manner. The recruits expressed high determination before departing, aiming to excel in their assigned tasks, become good soldiers, and contribute to the construction and protection of the Fatherland.

This year, the district has 130 recruits, including 90 embarking on the military service and 40 joining the people’s public security force. The recruitment process was conducted thoroughly in accordance with regulations, ensuring that the recruits met the required standards for political qualities, education, and health. Forty-one citizens volunteered to enlist, demonstrating a strong sense of determination and pride in fulfilling their duties to the Fatherland.

With thorough preparation in all aspects, the enlistment ceremonies in the localities of Son La province were held solemnly, truly becoming a festival. They made a strong impression and served as an effective means of popularisation and education. The events created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, encouraging and motivating the youth to eagerly volunteer for national service, contributing to the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army, and firmly safeguarding of the Fatherland.
