Contest promotes Thai costumes in Phu Yen district

Within the framework of the "Xip Xi Tet" Festival in 2024, the Women's Union of Phu Yen district on August 13 organised a contest to promote the Thai ethnic group’s costumes in Phu Yen district.

The event attracted the participation of 14 teams with 28 contestants from the communes of Quang Huy, Huy Bac, Huy Ha, Huy Thuong, Huy Tan, Huy Tuong, Huy Bac, Gia Phu, Tuong Phu, Tuong Thuong, Tuong Ha, Tuong Tien, Tuong Phong and Sap Xa, and Phu Yen town.

Representatives from the participating teams receive the contest organising board’s flags.

Contestants competed in two parts - traditional and modernised costumes. They brought to the event beautiful costumes, meeting all the criteria regarding traditional and national identity.

The contest offered an opportunity for Phu Yen district to introduce and promote the cultural traits and traditional costumes of the Thai ethnic group in Phu Yen district, contributing to boosting local tourism development.
