2023 English Olympic for students held in Son La

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s chapter in Son La province has recently coordinated with Uni Language House foreign language centre to organise the 2023 English Olympic competition for students named “Ring the Golden Bell”.

The contest attracted the participation of 105 contestants from five teams of high schools, colleges and universities in the province who had to undergo two parts: multiple choice and rhetoric.

In the multiple-choice test, 100 candidates answered questions about English knowledge in the high school curriculum as well as social knowledge about geography, history and literature to find out the best contestant.

In the rhetoric part, five representatives from the five teams delivered presentations on such topics as historical figures and places, the environment, hobbies and skills, etc.

Candidates demonstrated good listening, comprehension and communication skills in English language, and answered questions accurately. The contest created a learning environment and helped students practice English effectively.
