Efforts made to care for, protect trade unionists’ legitimate rights, interests

The Trade Union of Son La province’s agriculture and rural development sector on July 10 held a conference to review its activities in the first six months of this year and launch tasks for the remaining months, and sum up the emulation movement commemorating the 95th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - 2024).

 

 An overview of the conference.

In the past six months, the trade union did a good job of taking care of and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members, officials, workers, civil servants, and public employees. It visited and gave 594 Tet (lunar New Year) gifts, worth more than 300 million VND (11,800 USD), to union members and workers; and participated in the programmes " Trade Union Tet Market" and "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" 2024, with over 100 unionists and labourers benefiting. It also helped support construction and repair of two charity houses, worth 50 million VND; assisted union members affected by floods with a total amount of 6 million VND; and offered preferential loans worth 50 million VND to unionists for family economic development.

 Individuals with excellent achievements receive certificates of merit from the sector’s Trade Union.

In the last months of the year, the Trade Union will focus on developing the number of its members, strive to establish at least one grassroots union and to see 80% of union members, employees, and workers contributing to the social fund of the provincial Confederation of Labour. Efforts will be made to take care of the material and spiritual lives of workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, with 100% of union members and workers in difficult circumstances receiving timely support.

Individuals with outstanding achievements receive certificates of merit from the sector’s Trade Union.

At the conference, the Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to 20 individuals with achievements in the emulation movement commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.
