At the programme, children learned about the origin and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, chatted with characters Sister Hang and Uncle Cuoi, joined folk games, and enjoyed unique musical performances and attractive lion dances.
On this occasion, the provincial Youth Union awarded 13 "Vu A Dinh" scholarships, worth 1 million VND (41 USD) each, to disadvantaged students with outstanding academic performance; donated nearly 700 lanterns, candies and 1,000 sets of school supplies, with a total value of 150 million VND (6,150 USD) to students of Muong Leo ethnic boarding, primary and secondary schools.
The provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the provincial Study Promotion Association and Viettel Son La presented 40 scholarships worth 40 million VND (1,640 USD) in total to children in difficult circumstances.
