Meaningful activities held for border students

Military units under the provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with agencies both inside and outside Son La, on December 19 organized a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

The "border lesson" at Marker 255.

At Border Marker 255, the youth union of the Long Sap International Border Gate Guard Station in Moc Chau district, along with youth unions from Son La, Lam Dong, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces, held a "border lesson" for nearly 320 teachers, students from the Long Sap Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Primary and Secondary School, and participating youth union members. The lesson focused on introducing the national border, border markers, and the country’s territorial sovereignty.

Preschool children experience "Becoming a Border Guard" at the Chieng Son Border Guard Station.

It aimed to promote dissemination and education of border regulations, enhancing the responsibility and awareness of border guards, teachers, students, and local youth regarding the construction, protection and management of national border sovereignty. The programme also sought to inspire love for the homeland and the country, and national pride.

As part of the programme, 250 warm jackets worth nearly 30 million VND (1,180 USD) were presented to students of the Long Sap Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Primary and Secondary School.

On the same day, the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station in Yen Chau district and the Chieng Son Border Guard Station in Moc Chau district organized other activities such as the "Becoming a Border Guard" experience for more than 400 preschool children from local schools. The kids also visited the border guard stations and were provided with information about the founding of the army and the traditions of the border guard units.
