Its total forest area reaches over 60,700 hectares and the forest coverage stands at 49.2%.

To protect the existing forest area, the district has promoted the communications work to raise public awareness of the Forestry Law; consolidated 170 groups of forest rangers in communes and hamlets, with 1,543 members; and signed commitments to forest protection, and wild fire prevention and control with households.
