A fire safety and rescue awareness programme is held at Chieng An Secondary School
As part of the experiential programme, participants learned how to handle fire and explosion scenarios, and how to safely evacuate homes, crowded areas, and schools. The programme introduced neighborhood fire safety groups, public firefighting points, and the “My Home Has a Fire Extinguisher” initiative, alongside demonstrations of on-site firefighting and rescue equipment and tools.

Residents, teachers, and students participated directly in fire and rescue exercises, including escape drills using ladder trucks, evacuation practice in smoke-filled environments, targeted water spraying, extinguishing gas leaks with portable fire extinguishers, basic first-aid training, and demonstrations of rescue rope techniques.

These activities ran on October 11-12. By midday on October 11, more than 10,000 residents, teachers, and students had participated at various locations. The programme provided valuable, practical experience, equipping students and the community with fire safety knowledge and emergency evacuation skills to protect lives at home and in the community.
