The patient, Nguyen Thi Huong, 72, from residential area 4, Chieng Le ward in Son La city, was suffering from a gastric hemorrhage and needed an urgent blood transfusion (blood type O), amid the hospital’s scarce blood supply.

The hospital called for blood donations to assist the patient. The leadership of the Son La Mobile Police Division selected three policemen from the Youth Blood Bank Club who are in good health and have compatible blood type to donate blood.

Since the beginning of this year, 17 personnel from the Son La Mobile Police Division have donated blood for emergency medical care and treatment.
