"Tet 2024" programme held in Phu Yen district

The Humanitarian Television Center and the Red Cross Society of Son La province, the Phu Yen district People's Committee, units and sponsors organised a Lunar New Year (Tet) programme on January 19 and 20 in Huy Tan commune, Phu Yen district.

The organising committee presents a thank-you logo to the sponsors of the "Tet 2024" programme.

At the event, organisers visited and gave gifts to five policy beneficiary families and poor households in Huy Thuong, Huy Tan and Quang Huy communes; and 130 gifts to students and teachers of the Huy Tan Primary and Secondary School. The provincial Military Command presented 10 gifts to wounded and sick soldiers in Huy Tan commune. Doctors and nurses from the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Hospital provided free medical examinations, health consultations, and medicine to more than 500 people.

The programme organised a "Tet market", with 14 stalls providing essential items and confectionery for 500 families in difficult circumstances and policy beneficiaries in the district free of charge. The programme’s total value hit over 2 billion VND (81,466 USD).

In addition, there were also many cultural, art and sports activities such as pounding ‘banh day’ (round sticky rice cake), ‘con’ and ‘pao’ (cloth ball) throwing, stick pushing, swinging, and cultural exchanges, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere and attracting a large number of participants.
