New road brings hope to remote Mong hamlet

After years of struggling along a severely deteriorated dirt road, joy has come to Mong ethnic minority people in Long Hom hamlet, Phieng Cam commune, as a new road is under construction. The Tong Chinh-Na Va road is being widened and paved with concrete, promising to transform the remote mountainous area. Taking advantage of the dry season, the contractor is mobilising machinery and workers to accelerate construction, with the road targeted for completion and opening to traffic by the end of 2026.

The provincial Department of Science and Technology on September 29 held a conference on connecting technology supply and demand as part of the activities of the Son La Innovation and Digital Transformation Day 2026. Son La focuses on improving quality of primary and secondary education

The provincial Department of Education and Training held a conference on improving the quality of primary and lower secondary education in the 2026-2027 academic year on September 25, at Son La High School for the Gifted. The event saw the attendance of representatives from the People’s Committees of 75 communes and wards, as well as school managers from primary and secondary schools across the province.

Son La speeds up completion of Route 1A

The project to complete Route 1A and develop the Tay Bac Square flower garden, covering the section from Trang Bridge to Route 1A, has entered its final stretch. The project is being carried out to mark the 131st founding anniversary of Son La province.
