    As part of Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2026, an ethnic cultural and tourism camp area was held on August 31 at May 8 Square in Moc Chau Ward, bringing together eight communes and wards from the Moc Chau National Tourism Area and five from other parts of the province: Quynh Nhai, Ngoc Chien, Muong Chanh, Ta Xua and Binh Thuan.

    The 16th-tenure Son La provincial People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term held its third thematic session on August 28 to consider and decide on matters within its authority. The event was chaired by Lo Minh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council; Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Council; and Nguyen Viet Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council.

Son La schools ready for new academic year

As the new school year approaches, educational institutions across Son La province are rushing to complete the final preparations to welcome more than 370,000 students back to school. Preparations for facilities, teaching staff and other conditions for teaching and learning have largely been completed, laying a solid foundation for schools to establish routines and effectively carry out the academic year’s tasks from the very beginning.

DNA sampling completed at seven martyrs cemeteries in Son La

Son La province has 14 martyrs cemeteries, seven of which contain 579 graves of fallen soldiers whose identities have yet to be determined. As part of the “500-day-and-night campaign to accelerate the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains,” the province has completed DNA sampling for identification purposes at all seven cemeteries.
