The Yen Chau Mango Festival 2026 opened in Kha hamlet, Yen Chau commune on May 30.

The Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the provincial Party Agencies Bloc held its first Congress for the 2025–2030 term on May 29. Attending the congress were Le Tien Quan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of provincial Party Agencies; leaders of the provincial Youth Union; and 120 delegates representing more than 4,900 youth union members from six chapters.

Son La on May 29 organised a conference reviewing one year of operating the new political system and two-tier local administration model across the province.

The Son La provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with CARE International in Vietnam, on May 27 organised an event to kick off the project on technical support towards capacity building for the implementation of climate change mitigation plans and mobilisation of sustainable financial resources for forest protection and development, including the high-quality forest carbon market (C4G project).

Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet on May 26 chaired a meeting on projects using land funds to generate capital for infrastructure development in Son La province.
