Ahead of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2026), a delegation from the Party Organisation of the National Assembly's Committee for Deputy Affairs on July 11 offered incense at the Tay Tien Regiment 52 historical relic site in Moc Chau ward. The delegation was led by Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Deputy Affairs, and deputy head of the Party Central Committee's Organisation Commission.
The Chieng On Border Guard Station, in coordination with the Youth Union of Customs Sub-department Region IV, the Youth Union of the Customs Tax Operations Division under the Ministry of Finance’s Customs Department, Hanoi Westminster Primary and Secondary School, and Hanoi-based Green Gables group, inaugurated and handed over two community projects: "Loving School – Helping Children Stay in School" and "Lighting Up the Border Area" in Yen Son commune on July 11.
Over the past several days, the impact of Storm Maysak, the first hitting the East Sea this year, has brought prolonged heavy rainfall, causing damage to homes, property, and public infrastructure in Quynh Nhai, Muong Gion, and Muong Sai commune. Local Party committees and authorities are urgently implementing recovery measures and providing assistance to help residents stabilise their lives.
Over the past 24 hours (from 8:00 a.m. on July 10 to 8:00 a.m. on July 11), Son La province experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas recording very heavy rain. Several locations received more than 150 mm of rainfall, while Muong La commune recorded the highest amount at 240.2 mm. Prolonged heavy rain caused localised flooding and landslides, affecting homes, agricultural production, transportation, and various infrastructure facilities across the province.
