The 16th-tenure Son La provincial People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term held its third thematic session on August 28 to consider and decide on matters within its authority. The event was chaired by Lo Minh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council; Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Council; and Nguyen Viet Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council.
With their youthful energy, pioneering spirit, creativity and technological agility, young people in Son La province are gradually asserting their pivotal role in the province’s digital transformation journey. Through concrete projects and initiatives, members of the provincial Youth Union and young people are not only integrating technology into youth union activities but also helping spread digital skills and expand residents’ access to digital services, contributing to the development of a digital society across the province.
The People’s Committee of Muong Gion commune is organising a cultural, sports and tourism festival from August 30 to September 1 to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2026).
With Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) and the opening of the 2026-2027 school year taking place close together, Son La Power Company has put in place measures to ensure safe and stable electricity supplies for political, cultural and social events as well as household needs across the province. The company is also preparing to supply power to schools, with particular attention to 13 inter-level boarding schools in border communes.
