Hun hamlet, located about 6 km from the provincial centre, features distinctive natural landscapes, including terraced fields, irrigation reservoirs, and a fresh climate. It also preserves many traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic group, with over 100 stilt houses and community art teams.

The hamlet has more than 20 hectares of wet rice fields, 145 hectares of plum orchards, and 175 hectares of coffee plantations, offering favourable conditions for developing agricultural and community-based tourism.

The project aims for Hun hamlet to be officially recognised as a tourist destination by 2030, attracting approximately 60,000 visitors, generating total revenue of 64 billion VND (2.43 million USD), and achieving an average annual growth rate of over 12%.

To implement the project, Chieng Coi ward will focus on developing community-based tourism products linked with landscape improvement and environmental protection. Plans include creating flower-lined roads, bauhinia flower routes, and check-in spots at terraced fields and irrigation reservoirs.

At the same time, the ward will promote unique experiential activities such as plum picking, coffee harvesting, rice planting, traditional field fishing festivals, and enjoying local ethnic cuisine. Folk performances, traditional festivals, folk games will be organised and traditional craft villages will be restored. In addition, local households will be encouraged to develop homestay models, garden experiences, fishing, and resort services, while connecting with nearby tourist attractions to form diverse tourism product chains and enhance the destination’s appeal.

At the conference, leaders of Chieng Coi ward called on specialised departments, local authorities, and residents of Hun hamlet to effectively implement the project; mobilise resources for infrastructure investment; gradually meet the criteria for tourist destination recognition; and integrate tourism development with the preservation of ethnic cultural identity and the improvement of local livelihoods.
