Moc Chau Plateau – An ideal destination for upcoming holiday

The Moc Chau National Tourist Area, with its many scenic landscapes, attractive experiential tourism spots, and unique cultural and culinary features, is an ideal destination for visitors during this year’s April 30 - May 1 holiday.

In Thao Nguyen ward, plum orchards are entering harvest season, making them a popular choice for tourists who come to explore, experience, and enjoy fresh, delicious plums grown and cared for by local farmers. To prepare for the upcoming holiday, orchard owners have been actively tending their gardens, improving the landscape, and promoting their orchards on social media to attract visitors.

Vu Trung Hai, owner of the Ban Moc Farm brand chain in Thao Nguyen ward, said: “We currently have 6 hectares of plum trees. The plums are now ripe and visitors can freely tour the orchard, take photos, pick, and enjoy fresh plums right on-site. To better meet the increasing demands of tourists, in addition to opening the orchard for tourist visits, we also offer camping services in the plum garden, providing unique experiences for visitors to the Moc Chau Plateau.”

In addition, the lush green tea hills stretching across the plateau not only provide high-quality agricultural products but also serve as an attractive tourist destination, captivating visitors with their peaceful and poetic beauty and unique experiences. Here, visitors can not only admire the scenery but also learn about the tea production process, from picking leaves, rolling, drying, to scenting. In particular, enjoying a hot cup of Moc Chau tea amid the vast tea hills is a memorable experience that brings relaxation and refreshment.

Moreover, visitors to the Moc Chau Plateau during this time can explore many famous attractions such as Moc Chau Island Tourist Area, Happy Land Moc Chau, Dai Yem Waterfall Ecotourism Area, Ban Ang Pine Forest Resort and Entertainment Area, Doi Cave, Moc Ly Post, the historical relic site of the Tay Tien Regiment 52, along with various community-based tourism villages.

Notably, the Moc Chau Island Tourist Area features the Bach Long Glass Bridge, which holds many world records, including the longest glass bridge (632 metres) and the bridge with the longest cliff path, along with many thrilling activities, resort services in a train-themed hotel or a solar system-themed glamping area. Visitors can also enjoy cuisine at a bamboo restaurant.

Hoang Manh Duy, Deputy Executive Director of Moc Chau Island Tourist Area, said: “We have fully prepared facilities, personnel, and necessary conditions to welcome visitors during the April 30 – May 1 holiday. In addition to entertainment activities, the tourist area will also organise various community cultural programmes that recreate the life and cultural identity of ethnic minorities in the highlands, serving visitors who come to visit and stay.”

After exploring tourist sites and enjoying the unique cuisine of the Moc Chau Plateau, when night falls, visitors can head to the Moc Chau Walking Street – Night Market (Thao Nguyen ward) and the “Moc Son Colours” cultural space (Na Ang residential area, Moc Son ward) to immerse themselves in a vibrant cultural atmosphere.

Here, visitors can experience local cuisine and specialties; participate in making five-coloured sticky rice and bamboo-cooked rice; weaving baskets and bamboo trays; brocade weaving, spinning, dyeing threads; pounding traditional cakes, flax spinning, beeswax painting, and fabric embroidery; and join in traditional dances such as xoe dance, bell dance, and khen dance.
