The provincial Farmers’ Union conducts a survey of an eco-tourism cooperative model in Chieng San community on April 10.

Established in February 2024, the Chieng San Eco-Tourism Cooperative, based in Nong Luong hamlet, Chieng San commune, consists of seven members and operates with a total capital of over 1 billion VND (38,812 USD).

Since its founding, cooperative members have invested in renovating Tat Pha Waterfall, located at the foot of the Tai Hua mountain range within Chieng San. Upgrades include over 1 km of access road to the waterfall, a bathing dam, stairways, and the renovation of residential and auxiliary facilities to serve tourists’ dining and lodging. The cooperative has also stocked fish at the base of the dam and introduced goats into the landscape to enhance the tourist experiences, with total investment exceeding 2 billion VND.

In recent months, the site has become a popular weekend destination, attracting a growing number of visitors seeking nature and local experiences.

Following the survey, leaders of the provincial Farmers’ Union urged local authorities to continue supporting the cooperative in completing necessary procedures to access available support policies. They also encouraged the cooperative to plan and develop infrastructure in a comprehensive and harmonious manner, with investment in facilities and landscaping.

The development of tourism, they noted, should go hand in hand with the preservation of traditional cultural identity and the promotion of green agricultural eco-tourism. This approach is expected to help drive economic restructuring and create jobs for local workers.
