The festival featured a mass public performance, setting a Vietnamese record of "50 dishes and drinks made from buckwheat", and a typical dish cooking contest of participating units and art performances. In addition, there were 65 booths introducing culture, tourism, typical products and dishes of countries and localities, photo books and publications introducing destinations and tourism products.
Participating in this festival, Son La province’s Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion displayed publications, typical tourism products, along with OCOP (one commune one product) products and outstanding agricultural products of the province, including plum, guava, coffee, ‘cham cheo’ (a kind of spice), tea, black garlic, and dried fruit. It also organised cultural activities, such as then singing, bamboo dancing, and To Ma Le folk game, which attracted a large number of people and tourists. Joining the event contributed to introducing and promoting the image of land and people, tourism potential, and typical tourist destinations of Son La, and aimed to boost the exchange of experience in the tourism management, promotion and development between localities in the region.
