Groundbreaking held for project to renovate, construct new facilities within provincial Party Committee campus

Groundbreaking, inauguration, or technical traffic opening ceremonies for 234 key projects nationwide were held on December 19, in celebration of the upcoming 14th National Party Congress and the 79th anniversary of National Resistance Day (1946–2025). The ceremonies were held both in-person and online at 79 locations nationwide, underscoring momentum for development in a new era.

In Son La province, authorities held groundbreaking for two projects: the renovation and construction of new facilities within the provincial Party Committee campus, and the Chieng Dong Water Supply Plant. Both projects were selected by the Ministry of Construction to break ground in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress.

The ceremony in Son La province was linked online to the central venue in Hanoi, along with 79 other locations nationwide, and was broadcast live on VTV1 as well as on STV and the digital platforms of Son La Newspaper and Radio-Television.

The project to renovate and construct a new headquarters of the provincial Party Committee and other facilities within its campus is being developed by the civil and industrial construction and urban development project management board. It includes the construction of a new seven-story office building and auxiliary facilities; the renovation of offices of the Party Committee’s Standing Board and Office into a canteen, guesthouse and official residences; upgrades to archival facilities; refurbishment of the entire attic floor of the provincial conference centre; and improvements to external technical infrastructure.

It also involves investment in office equipment to meet working needs, including elevators, computers, information technology and communications systems, air-conditioning, fire prevention and firefighting systems, and security infrastructure.

In his remarks, Hung asked the provincial civil and industrial construction and urban development project management board to work closely with relevant agencies, adhere to the approved schedule and plan, and manage and implement the project in full compliance with the law. He also called for strict control of construction quality, safety, and timelines so the project can be put into operation as scheduled, on September 2, 2027.

Contractors were instructed to mobilise sufficient manpower, machinery, equipment and construction materials, apply advanced construction technologies, strictly comply with regulations on construction, environmental protection and labour safety, and ensure progress, quality and absolute safety.
