Quynh Nhai district culture, cuisine enchant visitors

Competitions celebrating the cultural heritage of local ethnic groups and traditional Tet feasts took centre stage on February 8 as part of the Quynh Nhai district Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week 2025.

Tham gia hội thi có 11 đội đến từ 11 xã, thị trấn trên địa bàn huyện. Mỗi đội mang đến một gian trưng bày không gian văn hóa các dân tộc đặc sắc, độc đáo, mang đặc trưng văn hóa riêng theo chủ đề của từng xã, như: Không gian văn hóa dân tộc Mông, Dao, Thái; không gian văn hóa tổng hợp các dân tộc.

The competitions brought together 11 teams from across the district, each curating dynamic displays that showcased the unique traditions of ethnic groups such as the Mong, Dao, and Thai. Alongside individual exhibits, a shared space highlighted the rich, collective heritage of these communities.

With creativity and attention to detail, each team crafted an impressive exhibition space, thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. Visitors were treated to a vivid showcase of local life, featuring traditional clothing, intricate handicrafts, authentic cuisine, unique souvenirs, and traditional instruments. The displays also spotlighted local signature agricultural products and specialties.

As part of the festivities, teams presented elaborate Tet feasts, featuring dishes of their choice. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients with clear origins were prioritised, ensuring food safety and hygiene. The feasts highlighted traditional Tet meals, with a strong emphasis on incorporating readily available local produce.

Artfully arranged and bursting with flavour, the dishes showcased the district’s rich culinary heritage, particularly its signature aquatic products, offering visitors a true taste of Quynh Nhai’s unique flavours.
