The contest ran from March 20 to 27, with the participation of 288 teachers from secondary schools across 70 communes and wards, as well as boarding ethnic minority secondary and high schools in the province.
Teachers competed across 14 subjects, including Mathematics, Literature, Biology, History, Music, English, Geography, Chemistry, Physical Education, Information Technology, Civic Education, Physics, Technology and Fine Arts, with two components: a presentation on measures to improve teaching quality and a practical teaching session.
According to the organising committee, most participating teachers made careful preparations, demonstrating strong professional competence and solid pedagogical skills, as well as proficiency in information technology and active teaching methods, meeting the requirements of the 2018 general education curriculum.
The teaching quality improvement measures presented at the contest focused on innovation in teaching methods toward developing students’ qualities and competencies. Several outstanding proposals have been recommended for wider application across the education sector.
At the conclusion of the contest, 220 teachers were recognised as provincial outstanding secondary school teachers for the 2025–2026 academic year.
On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded a certificate of merit to one individual, while the Department of Education and Training presented commendations to 26 others and the provincial Association for Promoting Education honoured 30 individuals for outstanding performance in the contest.
