Free medical check-ups and medicines provided for people in remote mountainous areas
The Standing Board of the provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the US’s Medical Aid Project (MAP) and Canada-based Medical Aid for Vietnam (EMAS), has organised a programme to provide free medical check-ups, health consultations, and medicines for poor households, policy beneficiary families, and residents of To Mua, Van Ho, Song Khua, Chieng Son, and Xuan Nha communes.

During the July 14-16 programme, more than 20 doctors and healthcare professionals conducted clinical examinations in general internal medicine, dermatology, musculoskeletal medicine, and ophthalmology, as well as provided vision screening and eyeglass fitting services for nearly 600 local residents. Nearly 600 free prescriptions were dispensed to treat common conditions such as hypertension, joint pain, bronchitis, and allergies.
The 250 million VND (9,500 USD) programme also presented 100 gift packages to poor households, near-poor households, and policy beneficiary families in To Mua commune.

Muong Chanh commune, in coordination with Tay Bac University, on August 18 organised a workshop themed “Muong Chanh Tourism: Potential, Current Situation and Solutions.” The event was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, and Phieng Cam, Chieng Mai, Muoi Noi and Binh Thuan communes; as well as scientists, artisans, businesses and cooperatives in the localities.
