Mobile communications contest on Dien Bien Phu Victory launched

The Grassroots Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province on March 29 evening organised a mobile communications contest on the Dien Bien Phu Victory on the occasion its 70th anniversary (May 7,1954-2024).

The contest, lasts from March 26 to April 2, sees the participation of 37 teams from cities and provinces nationwide, who perform in 32 districts, towns and townships in the nine cities and provinces of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Son La and Dien Bien. The Son La team comprises 20 members.

A closing and award ceremony is scheduled for April 4 at the May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu city.

In Son La city, more than 140 communicators from Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, Ha Giang, Long An, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Son La staged 15 special art performances featuring the Dien Bien Phu Victory that “resounded across the five continents and shook the globe” and honouring the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the indomitable combat spirit and the heroic sacrifices of generations of soldiers to gain national independence and freedom, along with other programmes imbued with mountainous cultural traits.

The programmes created a heroic and emotional art space, attracting a large number of officers, soldiers, students and locals in Son La city.

On March 29 night, seven mobile communications teams from Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hau Giang, Ca Mau, Nghe An and Hanoi also competed in Yen Chau district, Son La province.

The contest was jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Son La province. It spotlighted the great national solidarity bloc, as well as the stature and significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory for the nation and the era.

The programmes were elaborately staged by the teams and rich in genres, from singing, dancing and music to traditional musical instrument performances, creating a vibrant, heroic and attractive atmosphere.

The teams are scheduled to continue their journey in other provinces, and gather in Dien Bien province for a closing and award ceremony at the May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu city on April 2./.
